12.31.22: Surprise! No resolutions this year.
Designing a lecture, websites in Japan, chess strategy & AI
Happy New Year ya’ll! 🎊🍾🥳
The end of the year is a perfect time for reflection, but I wanted to avoid the traditional “Let’s design a New Year” content and go with a regular batch of intriguing design finds.
We’ll dive into the design of prioritizing and goal setting sometime in 2023 but for now, enjoy…
The design of a lecture…
As the Hip Hop genre continues to morph and take over popular music, it’s easy to lose sight of how magical rap minds are. The art of Rap goes way beyond rhyming words or finding a good beat.
It’s an intricate design that everyone can feel, but few understand. Randomly enough, MIT feels the same way and has given Lupe Fiasco a chance to teach a Course on the subject.
Lupe’s rap prowess has always been evident but to see his mind at work in a classroom environment, breaking down the science of it all, is refreshing and eye-opening…What if all university lectures or professors were designed a little more like this?
How the internet is designed in other parts of the world…
It blows my mind how culture can quietly blend into all the designs around us; how websites are designed is just another example. I’ve never heard of Answer in Progress before, but this video officially made a fan out of me.
One of Nature’s Designs…
Infinity is a trippy thing to think about. It’s one of nature’s most fascinating designs and a concept that will surely expand your brain.
Designing a Chess Strategy
I grew up playing chess but took a giant hiatus that I didn’t formally ditch until this past year. Now I’m going back to the basics, learning how to develop my game in ways that I never did as a kid. It doesn’t take long to see why the game of Chess is so good for the mind; even for folks not interested in the game itself, the design of the strategy is valuable for everyday life.
How AI is transforming design…
The topic of AI is getting louder and, soon enough, will be a part of every workflow design you can think of. Here’s a nice peep into how AI designs are influencing creatives.
I hope everyone has a beautifully smooth transition into the New Year. Have fun, be safe, and have a drink for me! (It’s my Bday 😎🍾)
Any questions or suggestions? Don’t hesitate to reach out or leave a comment. This is infinitely a work in progress, and I’ll need feedback in order to design the most impactful newsletter possible.
